Time flies by and I am about to take some annual leave. Hard to go away when so many exciting things are happening. The new VANISH website will go live this month and I think you will be delighted to see more information for service users and for professionals. We will be adding to this new resource and next year will see a register of counsellors knowledgeable about adoption go online with a forum for them to have professional discussions.

Here we are in mid-Winter again and I trust your Winter Solstice weekend was good, either in blissful solitude or with family, under the magnificent moon. We are busy enough at VANISH not to feel the cold too much and I take this opportunity to up-date you with what is going on.

It has been an amazing first quarter of 2013 as we have each experienced in different ways the challenges and the healing flowing from the National Apology on 21 March 2013, the viewings held in Melbourne and Tasmania and the numerous small group, family and solitary occasions across the nation.

Historic Apology to people affected by past adoption practices
The Victorian Parliament apologised to the mothers, fathers, sons and daughters affected by past adoption practices on Thursday 25 October 2012 and expressed regret for the pain and harm caused by the past practices.
