Leave a Gift in your will
Did you know that you are able to leave a gift in your will to support the work of organisations like VANISH?
Remembering VANISH in this way enables us to provide free search, support and counselling services to individuals affected by past adoption practices for years to come.
What types of gifts can you leave?
- Residuary – the remainder of your Estate after gifts to family and loved ones are disbursed.
- Percentage – a percentage of your Estate
- Specific – a specific sum of money or specific assets in the form of property, shares or items of value
- An investment in perpetuity.
VANISH welcomes gifts of any kind.
Please note that these gifts are not tax deductible as they form part of the distribution of your Estate.
We encourage you to consult a professional and seek independent advice when making your Will. Your priority is to ensure that the wording is legally correct and appropriate so that your Estate is disbursed in the way you wish and to reflect what is important to you and your family. You can read more about making a Will on the Victoria Legal Aid website.
If you have chosen to leave a gift to VANISH, we would welcome you sharing these details with your family and letting us know so that we can keep you up to date with all the latest news and information within our community.
VANISH has benefited from members who have kindly supported our organisation in this way over the past few years. Their generosity has provided assistance to those who do not have the financial means to purchase the records and certificates that are required to proceed with searches. We have also been able to purchase books for the VANISH library and new resources to enhance our search service.
VANISH greatly appreciates your support to be able to continue our work in supporting those affected by past adoption practices and separation from family.
